The Arabic scene right now is pop with its boots on. Morocco's RedOne produced Elyanna's "BOSA," a stadium-sized track that borrows its melodies and swagger from Latin America and uses Arabic flirtation slang to flip the usual gender roles. Egypt brings the grit. Felukah is back in Cairo after almost nine years in New York, recording at Waha Studios, the facility she opened there, and her album *Hibiskiss* was largely produced by Gloria Kaiyi Hui in New York. Her "Azucar" slides between Arabic, Spanish and English. Kazdoura's "Hmool El Safar" mixes electric guitar, synths and saxophone improvisation with psychedelic tones and jazz, and its video was shot in Cairo. The National's mid-2026 roundup hears the same spread, from Morocco and Algeria through Egypt to the Levant.
This month the WorldWidePop playlist sits at 14 videos, and two were added: Kazdoura's "Ala Mahlak," which had already turned up on SceneNoise's regional new-release shuffle, and Felukah's "SAHARA," with Lana Lubany and TÄRA. Both are fresh uploads, not old favourites. Two adds in a month says the list keeps refreshing around singles that wear their identity openly, which is the whole point of this scene right now.
