Grime in the UK still runs on radio, freestyles and a steady stream of dubs. Rinse FM's *The Grime Show* put Stormzy and a roster of MCs on air in October, while Resonance FM's *Grime for the Unconverted* mixed unreleased dubs next to fresh releases. In Birmingham and Wolverhampton the energy lives in freestyle videos. Silencer's produced "Through Ball Freestyle" passed 10,000 views about two months after upload, and the JDZmedia channel still gets much of its traffic from older freestyles. Twenty years in, the GRIME FACE collection still puts Lady Leshurr and Headie One beside Stormzy, and the scene has not stopped growing new names.
This month the WorldWidePop playlist added two videos to its 24: Lifeloose's "07XXXXXXXXX" and unflirt's "Air Turns Blue." Both are new to the list, and together they give the grime section a looser, more personal edge alongside the established MCs. The list still leans on its core artists, but these two additions show the page making room for newer voices rather than only revisiting the classics.
Listeners are tuning in from Bangladesh, the United Kingdom and the United States, with Bangladesh leading the comments. Keep an eye on Silencer's *See It Deh* launch, a Rinse FM show with a long guest list of Birmingham and Wolverhampton MCs. It is the clearest sign yet of where the scene's next wave is coming from.
