Luci Gang (Lee Eun-sun, born 1996) is a South Korean rapper and producer from Seoul, and one of the sharpest voices in Korean hip-hop and trap right now. She has built her catalog independently, outside the big label system, with her crew NEWTOWN BANGERS.
The place to begin is “HEADLOCK.” Produced by her NEWTOWN BANGERS crewmate Lucky Bando, the track took two days to record and stands out as the centerpiece of her 2026 project Rolling Stone, also titled 무한궤도. Built around club-ready pacing and melodic hooks, it cuts straight through the catalog, offering the clearest entry point into the sound she has assembled alongside producer PAXXWORD in their collective.
“HEADLOCK” surfaced on video platforms in July 2026, quickly setting the stage for the rest of Rolling Stone. The broader release followed her earlier solo runs—the 2020 debut EP Luci vs Gang, 2021’s Lucifer’s Therapy, 2023’s C8H11NO2 Club, and the 2025 follow-up Home Sweet Home, alongside the collaborative 2025 release XorO with Marv. On August 21, she brought that material to Rolling Hall in Sangsu for her first solo headline concert, packing out the venue before the 7:30 p.m. start.
Her collaborative momentum continued immediately into the following month with “TYPE SHI,” featuring HYOI. Dropped in August 2026, the track pairs Luci Gang’s melodic deliveries with HYOI’s aggressive, direct vocal cutting. As one viewer remarked under the clip, “뮤비 기획 누가 하는 거냐 다 좋네” (“Who’s planning these music videos? They’re all good”).
HYOI had already turned heads on the competition show Rap Cup in 2024, finishing fourth after performing “Lonely Money” alongside beatboxer Bigman and staging “BAD B*ITCH” with MASKon. Affiliated with the group Crow Workshop, HYOI entered the scene in October 2021 with the EP Dame girl-the ILLUSION, later dropping the 2024 single “GNARLY” with Antisocial Ben and producer Ten Off. She and Luci Gang crossed paths again on “MS. BALLER,” which arrived in July 2026 with Luci Gang stepping into HYOI’s court. As one listener wrote beneath the video, “MS BALLER 가자💨💨💨” (“MS BALLER let’s go”).
The wider platform ecosystem has consistently fed this circuit. On Mnet, the CJ ENM music network behind broadcast properties like BOYS II PLANET, I-LAND 2 N/α, and the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Luci Gang surfaced in January 2026 for the Show Me The Money 12 second preliminary 60-second performance. After clearing the 60-second mission on the broadcast, she exited in a one-on-one battle, having also appeared on RAP:PUBLIC.
Her shared work stretches beyond HYOI. In April 2026, Luci Gang linked with Rohann for “GET JIGGY!” Rohann, also known as WEBSTER B, first broke out as the runner-up on Mnet’s High School Rapper 2 in 2018, later assembling projects including 2019’s TAKE FIVE, 2020’s NEVERLAND, Go Straight To This Way, and LOVE, LIFE, OYE, and 2021’s 어디에 and BE RIGHT BACK, alongside his work with YEAHWEARE. On “GET JIGGY!,” their contrasting vocal weights push against each other over a relentless bounce.
For listeners working through the discography for the first time, queue up “HEADLOCK,” roll straight into “TYPE SHI,” and trace the crew production back to Lucky Bando’s boards on Rolling Stone.
The backstory
The name. “Luci” comes from Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly. She added “Gang” because she wanted a stage name that didn’t sound too soft, and a gang is a crew: one person hitting as hard as a whole group.
How she started. She grew up on the jazz and rock her father played at home. In middle school a Joey Bada$$ track turned up on her YouTube home page; she clicked it, and from then on hip-hop ran her feed. Home alone, she played it all day. At 21 she put every won from her part-time job into a studio and started making beats. She was bad at the producer’s other job, chasing artists to rap on them, so the beats piled up unfinished, until she rapped on them herself. That was the start of Luci Gang. Her early flows were loose, close to mumble rap; the style she’s known for now took shape around her first full album, Lucifer’s Therapy.
The crew. NEWTOWN BANGERS is Luci Gang, producer Lucky Bando and rapper PAXXWORD. It was always meant to be a crew, but she and Lucky Bando worked as a pair for so long that people took them for a duo. To break that, they brought in a third member: a close friend whose taste matched theirs exactly.
Why she said yes to TV. She went through a long stretch of anxiety and turned down shows like Show Me The Money more than once, afraid it would show on camera. Once she felt settled, and sure of her rapping, she signed up for Rap:Public. One story from the set: her team was desperate for cup noodles and talked a writer into handing over a few, on condition they kept it quiet. When they shared them with two other teams, they said they’d brought them from home. One rapper believed it completely and thanked them every time they passed.
The hair. The hippie perm became her trademark by accident. Lucky Bando had shaved his head his whole life, started growing it out in the army, and showed her a photo of the style he wanted once it was long. She liked it so much she got it first, and kept it.
Khundi Panda. People in the scene kept asking her, “Aren’t you Khundi’s friend?” She wasn’t, at first: Khundi Panda had simply been telling everyone her songs were good. When she told him the story, they got on, met up, and now go restaurant-hunting together.
What’s next. A sample-based hip-hop album built on the jazz and funk she grew up with, which she calls her warmest-sounding record yet: less about her own story than her first album, more about the rapping itself. NEWTOWN BANGERS are also planning a crew album.
