Serbia right now is loud, playful and happy to provoke. The Pesma za Evroviziju semi-final ran on big gestures and deliberate provocation, a style that splits juries and sends the televote climbing. Zejna's "Jugoslavija" won the OGAE Serbia fan vote for Best Song, earning Serbia a place in the OGAE Second Chance Contest, and it also stirred a cross-border row across the Balkans. Zejna calls it a metaphor about love, unity and hope. Belgrade's nights are spreading out too. Eighties+ at Zappa Baza on 9 October mixes synth-pop, ex-Yu rock, glam, funk and disco for a crowd of twenty-somethings who know the songs from playlists, and Afro House is growing, with Mestiza playing Ložionica on 2 October.
On the WorldWidePop playlist, October brought nothing new. No videos were added this month, so the Serbia page still rests on a single entry: Zejna's "LA LUNA", the most recent video and the only artist listed. For a scene this busy, that is a thin shelf. The live rooms and the semi-final are moving faster than the list, and the next additions will have to catch up.
