October 2026 in the France scene

Franglish and KeBlack have made the summer sound their own. Their joint album *Energy*, out in June, runs ten tracks that fold Congolese rumba into contemporary R&B, built for dancing and mostly about love, with "La Porte" setting the tone. Their earlier duos "Boucan" and "Génération impolie" are both certified diamond. Further out, bouyon from Guadeloupe is spreading into metropolitan France. Miimii KDS, 18, went from one solo track to close to 880,000 monthly Spotify listeners, and she is on the bill for Aya Nakamura's three sold-out Stade de France nights. "Baddies" has become the slang of the moment, pulled from Aya Nakamura's newest tracks, while club electronics such as HAAi's textures and FERDI's hybrids move alongside.

This month the WorldWidePop playlist added no new videos. What changed is its shape: a batch of 45 videos from another playlist came in at once, so the page now reads wider and more mixed. Aya Nakamura still leads by video count, and Ronisia's "Cuenta" debuted at #5 on France's Apple Music chart in early October. That chart sums up the moment. It listed 122 songs and only one reached #1, so no single record owns the top end right now, and the playlist reflects that spread.

Commenters are writing in from Cape Verde, Brazil and Algeria, which suggests the French sound travels well beyond the metro. Keep an eye on Ronisia, whose project *Sensation* is announced for late October with features from across French rap and pop. Let's see if it can hold a chart the way "Cuenta" has started to.
