Reggaetón right now is a classroom with a Puerto Rican accent. Wisin's *La Universidad del Perreo* goes back to the underground roots of the sound, to the caseríos and marquesinas where perreo started, and the school theme runs through the whole project, with courses and an online community attached. The record is a 12-track guest list that moves from Ivy Queen to Jowell & Randy and Juanka El Problematik, so the old guard and the street crews share the same floor. The dance is the lesson. Wisin says he'll teach it "como en los tiempos de antes," and the fans are treating the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan as the place to take it. The first show on November 13 sold out, and a second, final night was added for November 14 after more than 12,000 people queued on Ticketera.
On the WorldWidePop playlist, October brought nothing new. No videos were added this month, so the list still stands at one track: Wisin's Escápate Conmigo remix with Ozuna and Bad Bunny. It's a strong anchor. The 2017 original passed one billion Spotify streams and joined the Billions Club, which tells you how long this sound keeps people moving. But one track and one artist is a thin page for a scene this busy, and the gap is obvious.
Next, watch Lima. Wisin is on the bill for the Reggaeton Lima Festival at Estadio Nacional on October 31, alongside Anuel AA, Lunay and Jowell & Randy. That night will show how far the Universidad idea travels beyond Puerto Rico.
