Ashtine Olviga Steps Into Her Own With ‘Love Like Ashtine’ and “Hinga”

The video for “Hinga” landed on YouTube in October 2026, marking the latest single from Ashtine Olviga’s debut solo EP, Love Like Ashtine. Released on August 7, 2026, the six-track record is where to start with Olviga as a solo artist. It marks a distinct shift in her output, bringing together original songs she helped create after an initial run of releases penned by others.

Olviga previously issued solo material across 2025, putting out the singles “Minamahal” and “Sa Panaginip Na Lang,” alongside an acoustic cover of Amiel Sol’s “Sa Bawat Sandali.” Those earlier tracks relied on outside songwriters. On Love Like Ashtine, Olviga took an active hand in the writing, assembling a set of six original tracks: “Hinga,” “Nasaan Ka Na?,” “This Way,” “Dito Lang Tayo,” “enno,” and “Love Like U.”

Across the EP, Olviga opted for variation in genre and lyrical message rather than locking into a single speed or mood, purposely steering clear of making an all-slow or all-upbeat collection. At the same time, she has stated an ambition to make more hip-hop/pop music and faster material she can dance to during performances. That direction began to take shape with her debut solo single, “Love Like U,” which arrived on April 22, 2026, followed by its music video premiere on May 30.

The online response around “Hinga” shows her pull widening across different listener bases. Under the video on YouTube, one viewer asked, “Any blink here who also support Ashtine 🤔,” while another listener checked in from abroad: “The number of people who love and always support Ashtine ✋🏼✋🏼 Iam from Jordan 🇯🇴.”

That crossover comes after an extensive foundation in ensemble performance. Olviga is a Filipino actress and singer known on screen for Ang Mutya ng Section E, but her live footing was built as a member of girl groups, working through lineups in UGG, Ppop Generation, and LITZ before launching her solo work.

Recognition for that transition arrived early in her solo run when she received the People’s Choice Award at Billboard Philippines Women in Music 2026. She carried that momentum onto the live stage with her debut headlining show, Love Like Ashtine, scheduled for August 22, 2026, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
